Surah Yusuf (12) 01/08/2015

With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Yet another beautiful lesson to learn is mentioned in verse 90. Yusuf is well established in power.  From being thrown into a well, then to prison and with his faith and trust in Allah, not compromising on his moral values, he is now in charge of the economic affairs of Egypt.  The brothers, not knowing its him, return to ask for aid, from him.  He then discloses his identity.

Verse 90. They said: “Are you indeed Joseph?” He said, “I am Joseph, and this is my brother: Allah has indeed been gracious to us (all): behold, he that is righteous and patient,- never will Allah suffer the reward to be lost, of those who do right.”

We see Yusuf’s true character, being in a position of power he still remains humble and conscious of Allah.    He again uses the opportunity to make dawah and reminds himself and his brothers that righteousness and sabr (remaining firm and resolute to Allah’s commands) are the key ingredients for success.

Continues tomorrow Insha Allah
