Surah Nahl (16) 30/08/2015

bismi_65

With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Verse 14: It is He Who has made the sea subject, that you may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that you may extract ornaments to wear; and you see the ships therein that plough the waves, that you may seek  thus of the bounty of Allah and that you may be grateful.”

The sea with all its magnanimity is made subservient to man.     The depth of the sea provides us with the flesh of fish and other marine creatures as a source of food.  It also provides the best natural ornaments in the form of precious gems like pearls. The surface of the sea provides the cheapest and most widespread lines of transport for cargo and passengers. Its amazing how if you throw something in water it sinks but a huge ship floats on water.  Man is encouraged to seek the Bounty of Allah by using the sea. At the end of the verse Allah SWT appeals to our sense of gratitude.

Continues tomorrow. InshaAllah . . . Salaam /Peace
