With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Surah 17 (Bani-Isra’il)
Verses 56-57: Say: “Call on those – besides Him – whom ye fancy: they have neither the power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them.” Those whom they call upon do desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord, – even those who are nearest: they hope for His Mercy and fear His Wrath: for the Wrath of thy Lord is something to take heed of.”
A sincere message of Tauheed, we cannot truly be Allah (SWT)’s servants if we introduce intermediaries with Him. Previous communities have created such relationships and have met with severe rebuke from Allah (SWT). Thus seeking nearness (wasila) to Allah (SWT) is a requirement, however using agents to achieve this is against the wishes of our Creator. As Allah (SWT) explains in this verse, even those nearest (Angels and the Prophets) themselves seek nearness (wasila) to Allah. The nearness is in fact a direct link to Allah (SWT) which Allah (SWT) wants us to seek – seek Him and you shall find Him!
