With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Surah 20 (Ta-ha)

Verse 44

“But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah).”

An amazing instruction – Musa (AS) was instructed to go to address the prototype of Evil – an oppressor par excellence, yet he is told to speak gently. Much can be gained with such wisdom… gentleness allows the message rather than emotion to come forward. The term “gently” is probably best phrased as “calmly”. This was important as strength in such circumstances is to be calm and composed and not allow matters to spiral out of control. It is also important to note that mission was not to “take out” Pharoah but rather to “give him the message”. There is much to be gained from this example and relevant to our lives.

Further reference is Surah 6 verse 125 where we are instructed to invite to the way of Allah (SWT) with Wisdom and Beautiful Preaching
