With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Surah 27 (The Ant)
Lessons from Sulaiman’s AS story
“We gave (in the past) knowledge to David and Solomon: and they both said: Praise be to Allah, Who has favored us above many of His servants who believe!
And Solomon was David’s heir. He said: O ye people! We have been taught the speech of Birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah. )
And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts, of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.”
Sulaiman was granted great knowledge among the numerous other unique blessings he received from Allah. Rather than becoming arrogant and using it for selfish gains, he built a kingdom like no other, ensuring justice and social benefit for his people. He continuously showed gratitude to Allah.
In contrast we have the example of Qaroon, who was from the people of Moosa AS. See Cross Ref: 28:76-82
Qaroon had been blessed with abundance of wealth. But unlike Sulaiman, he did not show gratitude but “He said: This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge which I have…” and “he went forth among his people in the (pride of his worldly) glitter.” And thus he was punished “Then We caused the earth to swallow up him and his house; and he had not (the least little) party to help him against Allah, nor could he defend himself.”
Continues tomorrow InshaAllah…
