Sura 28 (Qasas)

Pharoah’s oppression of Bani Israeel

Verse 4 “Truly Pharaoh elated himself in the land and broke up its people into sections, depressing a group among them: their sons he slew, but he kept alive their females: for he was indeed a maker of mischief”.

Pharoah deemed himself the high and mighty, he thought of himself as the god of his subjects and used his authority unjustly to exploit and oppress.  He divided the people of Egypt into sects and oppressed a section of them.  This is a trait of an oppressor, dividing the people and carefully selecting their target. By killing the boys he was taking precaution to prevent uprising against him. Thus Pharaoh went to great lengths to preserve his power and exploitative ways, but Allah (SWT) had a different plan….
