Sura 28 (Qasas)

Destruction of superpowers if they fail to heed the message

Pharoah deemed himself the high and mighty, he thought of himself as the god of his subjects and used his authority unjustly to exploit and oppress.  Despite this Allah SWT gives Pharoah an opportunity to reform.  We see Allah’s justice and mercy at work here.   However,  instead of humbling himself, Pharoah insists that he is god.

Verse 38 “Pharaoh said: “O Chiefs! no god do I know for you but myself…….”  This arrogance lead him to reject Moosa (AS)’s message and he continued his oppressive ways.  As a result he meets Allah’s destruction.

Verse 39-40 “And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason,- he and his hosts: they thought that they would not have to return to Us.  So We seized him and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea: Now behold what was the end of those who did wrong.”
