With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sura 29 (Ankabut – The Spider)
The Quran and Prayer
Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.
We are instructed to make Tilawat of the Quran which implies not only reciting it but understanding and also communicating it to others. In addition we learn that Salah is not merely a ritual but serves as a means of protecting us from shameful and unjust behaviour. Thus to assess our Salaah is to assess its effect on our behaviour. Lastly, the desire for the best and greatest is a natural yearning and here we are given that secret – it is in the remembrance of Allah. This principally refers to the words of the Quran which are remembrances of Allah through His words and secondarily in the Quranic recital during Prayer. The greates thing is right infront of us!
13.28 – Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.
