With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sura 33 (Ahzaab– The Confederates)
*Some etiquette of visiting others*
“O ye who Believe! enter not the Prophet’s houses- until leave is given you- for a meal, (and then) not (so early as) to wait for its preparation: but when ye are invited, enter; and when ye have taken your meal, disperse, without seeking familiar talk. Such (behavior) annoys the Prophet: he is ashamed to dismiss you, but Allah is not ashamed (to tell you) the truth…”
We often don’t realise that the Quran offers guidance in all aspects in life, even things that we may regard as insignificant. From this verse we learn that we should be punctual. Arriving too early may make the hosts feel embarrassed if they are not yet ready to receive the guests, nor should we arrive to late and keep the hosts waiting. We also learn not to overstay our welcome, but to be considerate of others.
Cross reference Surah 24 verse – 27
“O ye who believe! Enter not houses other than your own, until ye have asked permission and saluted those in them: that is best for you, in order that ye may heed (what is seemly).”
Continues tomorrow InshaAllah…
