With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Sura 35 (Fatir)
All glory belongs to Allah SWT.

Verses 10-13

These are a set of verses showing in detail Allah’s power and creative mastery.  At times human beings become arrogant when they reach certain levels of power and these verses serve as reminder that all glory belongs to Allah SWT.

Verse 10 “If any do seek for glory and power,- to Allah belong all glory and power. To Him mount up (all) Words of Purity: It is He Who exalts each Deed of Righteousness. Those that lay Plots of Evil,- for them is a Penalty terrible; and the plotting of such will be void (of result).”

Allah reminds us in verse 10 that all glory belongs to Him and then in verse 11-13 striking examples are given which display Allah’s incomparable power and skill.   The lesson in all this is that righteousness is exalted by Him and hence human beings should strive for doing works that benefit society in accordance with what He has approved.  This is true honour in the sight of Allah SWT.

Cross reference : Sura 49:13 “…Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you…”
