With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Sura 36 (Yaseen)

Doing good work unconditionally

Verses 20-21

“Then there came running, from the farthest part of the City, a man, saying, “O my People obey the messengers: Obey those who ask no reward of you (for themselves), and who have themselves received Guidance.”

Verses 13 to 32 narrate the story of a town that were sent messengers but the people rejected them. Verse 21 shows that the messengers were fulfilling their duties like all other prophets of Allah. It is a reminder to us when discharge our religious  duties that we should not do it for personal benefit. We should ask ourselves, are we benefiting Islam or benefiting from Islam?

Cross reference Surah 6 verse 90

“Those were the (prophets) who received Allah’s guidance: copy the guidance they received; say: no reward for this do I ask of you: this is no less than a message for the nations.”

Continues tomorrow InshaAllah…

Salaam/Peace
