Surah Saffat (37) 16/04/2016

With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Sura 37 (Saffat)

Verses 180-182 “Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him), And Peace on the messengers! And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds.”
This set of verses, (often read when concluding our duas) being the last three of the Sura, essentially summarises the message of the Sura.  It tells us that all glory and power belongs to Allah SWT and in saying so it brings us to the realisation that only Allah is worthy of being worshipped and served.   Secondly, by wishing peace upon all His messengers, Allah reminds us of the important task of all of His messengers which was to spread and implement Allah’s message throughout the various societies and ages and thirdly whilst paying great regard to the messengers we should remember that their message was essentially to establish Allah SWT as the absolute centre of power and authority and that absolute praise (hamd) exclusively belongs to Allah SWT.
That concludes Sura 37.                We commence Sura 38 tomorrow Insha Allah.
