With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sura 39 (Zumar-Crowds)
The most beautiful message
Verse 23: Allah has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself, (yet) repeating (its teaching in various aspects): the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of Allah’s praises. Such is the guidance of Allah: He guides therewith whom He pleases, but such as Allah leaves to stray, can have none to guide.
The Quran is here called the “Ahsanal Hadith” – the best narration. An important characteristic of the Quran is its consistency. In Sura 4 verse 82 we read: “Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy.” This consistency – lack of contradiction is an important evidence that the Quran is from Allah and stands above all else.
Further our responses to the verses of the Quran are expected to instill inner sense of awe and a heart melting into acceptance. As is made clear here and in Sura 29 Verse 45, the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah – is the remembrance of His words found in the Quran. It is coming to this realization and the reverence that is due that we can be sure we are upon the guidance of Allah.
