With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sura 39 (Zumar-Crowds)
Allah is enough! No fear!
Verse 36: Is not Allah enough for his Servant? But they try to frighten thee with other (gods) besides Him! for such as Allah leaves to stray, there can be no guide.
Fear is a powerful tool employed to control and dominate people. A good example is the story of Pharoah, forcing people into obedience. Here we are told that fear is cast to sway people from the Truth by creating false fears. Fear of idols cursing or the curse formed out of superstition, the fear of being ostracized or cast out, the fear of loss of power or fame. However, these are illegitimate fears since it does not factor in the power of Allah (SWT). The verse begins with “Enough is Allah”. This short statement speaks volumes. Such unjustified fear is like the spiders web (Sura Ankabut) – truly flimsy.
Allah (SWT) advises in Sura 3 Verse 175: It is only the evil one that suggests to you the fear of His votaries: be ye not afraid of them, but fear me, if ye have Faith.
