With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sura 54 (Qamr)
Allah will deal with those who reject the message
“Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair, They will come forth, their eyes humbled from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad,”
Rasoolullah (SAW) always faced opposition from the Quraysh when spreading the message. Allah (SWT) tells him not to worry if they continue to reject the message as they will be dealt with accordingly on the Day of Judgment. The comparison with locusts can be better understood when one studies a species of locusts called cicadas. Cicadas live for 2 to 17 years underground and thereafter rise from the ground after years as if from their graves.
Cross reference Surah 3 verse 20
“So if they dispute with thee, say: I have submitted my whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me. And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: do ye (also) submit yourselves? if they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, thy duty is to convey the message; and in Allah’s sight are (all) his servants.”
