With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Surah 59 (Hashr)

Allah is worthy of all praise

Verse 24: “He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names; whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”

This surah concludes in the same manner as it opens, by declaring the limitless glory and praises of Allah SWT of all things that exist within the skies and the earth. It is not just a mechanical praise of Allah’s limitless glory but an admiration and being in awe of Allah SWT as a result of reflection and contemplation by His servants. In this verse Allah SWT gives us a glimpse of His limitless power and mastery in creation, He initiates creation from nothing and then bestows upon it, its due form. Creation is a miracle on its own but giving form to creation and making it fit for purpose is a miracle of equal proportion. Each form of life – be it plants, birds, insects, animals, humans etc are all given the most appropriate forms to make life possible for each of them and each of these through their creation and design reflect Allah’s limitless glory and power.
