With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sura 66 (Tahrim)
Verse 1
Allah’s laws cannot be changed by anyone
“O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful”.
In the above verse it is clear that the Prophet SAW made something haraam which Allah had made lawful. It is senseless speculating over the circumstances of the above verse but what we learn from here is that Allah SWT is the absolute authority in Islam and no one has the right to change or alter any of His laws. Accordingly we must ensure that the laws we promulgate socially and legally do not contradict Allah’s laws.
