Surah Jinn (72) 03/12/2016

In the name of Allah most kind most Merciful

Sura 72 (Jinn)

Verses 20-22

Only Allah has supreme power

Say: I only call upon my Lord, and I do not associate any one with Him.

Say: I do not control for you evil or good.

Say: Surely no one can protect me against Allah, nor can I find besides Him any place of refuge:

The verses above show us that the Prophets of Allah SWT lead from the front. In this particular case Muhammad saw is inspired to tell his people that he does not associate anyone with Allah and that he calls upon Allah SWT exclusively.  He does not claim to have extraordinary powers whatsoever nor is he exempt from Allah’s laws.

We can clearly see how Muhammad saw attributes all power and glory to Allah SWT. In doing so he is preventing hero worship of himself or any other Prophet or person.

Continues tomorrow…Insha Allah
