Surah Qalam (68) 19/11/2016

With the name of Allah, Most Gracious Most Merciful

*Economic Injustice and the Sunatullah*

 Sura Qalam (68)

68:22 As the morning broke, they called out, one to another,-

68:23 Go to your tilth (betimes) in the morning, if you would gather the fruits

68:24 So they departed, conversing in secret low tones, (saying)-

68:25 Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden), they said: “We have  surely lost our way:

68:26 Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labour)

This set of verses is a lesson for those guilty of economic exploitation.  The owners of the garden made decisions behind closed doors of how they were going to exclude the poor and needy from the harvest. However, when they got to the garden they found it to be desolate. Today some of those in power make economic decisions and plans on how to usurp the resources of the poor.   But from the above verses we learn that unjust economic schemes and plots will ultimately perish.

Continues tomorrow.

Salaam / Peace
