Surah Ad-Dukhaan (44) 04/06/2016

Sura 44 (Ad Dukhaan – The Smoke)

44:38 “We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport:
44:39 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand.”

Cross ref 11:7 He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days – and His Throne was over the waters – that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct…..”

The above verses make it quite clear why we have been placed on earth and V39 goes on to say most will not understand this.
If we just reflect for a moment and consider that every Muslim believes in Allah SWT, His Prophet (PBUH) and The Quran, yet we find so many Muslim countries plagued by civil wars, oppression, disunity and nepotism.

To change this unfortunate situation we need to have complete faith that the Quran is the only source of Divine Guidance and align our conduct in accordance its principles.

5:16 Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight.

Sura 44 (Ad Dukhaan – The Smoke)

Verse 25 to 29
“How many were the gardens and springs they left behind, And corn-fields and noble buildings, And wealth (and conveniences of life), wherein they had taken such delight! Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)! And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again).”

The Quran teaches us to establish a benevolent society based on Social Justice,Righteousness and Equality. Pharaoh and so many tyrants like him oppressed their people and abused state resources for their own selfish materialistic desires. The legacy that they hoped to create was utterly destroyed and forgotten.

Allah SWT through His Mercy gives us these examples so that we may take heed and embrace His Guidance and strive towards establishing a beneficial Society.

Cross Ref:
3:110 Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. …..”

Sura 44 (Ad Dukhaan – The Smoke)

Death Bed repentance will not be accepted

Verse 12 & 13″(They will say:) “Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!.How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,-

Failure to acknowledge and accept the reality of the Day of Judgement and lead our lives in accordance with the Guidance contained in The Quran will have dire consequences. Mankind’s regrets on that day will be too late. Unlike Pharaoh who refused to believe in Allah SWT until he faced imminent death, we should be proactive in seeking Allah’s repentance, amending our conduct and following the Guidance sent by Allah SWT.

Cross ref:
10:90 We took the Children of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in insolence and spite. At length, when overwhelmed with the flood, he said: “I believe that there is no god except Him……..”

Death bed repentance is not acceptable .

Cross ref:
10:54 Every soul that hath sinned, if it possessed all that is on earth, would fain give it in ransom: They would declare (their) repentance when they see the penalty: but the judgment between them will be with justice, and no wrong will be done unto them.

Surah Ad-Dukhaan (44) 01/06/2016

Sura 44 (Ad Dukhaan – The Smoke)

The Day Of Judgement is a sure reality

Verse 8 to 10 “There is no god but He (Allah). It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors. Yet they play about in doubt. Then watch you for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible”

Allah SWT, The All Powerful Controller of life and death informs us in no uncertain terms throughout the Quran that the world as we know it will cease to exist and Judgement Day will be established where we will be held accountable for our actions.

Despite this clear warning we see that in verse 9 people do not take it seriously as they refuse to change their lives to accord with the truth.

May Allah make us of those who’s actions reflect our belief in the hereafter.

Cross ref 7:51 “Such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world.” That day shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject Our signs.

Surah Ad-Dukhaan (44) 31/05/2016

Sura 44 (Ad Dukhaan – The Smoke)

The Quran is a Book of Wisdom

Verse 4-5 “In the (Night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom, by command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations),”

If we reflect carefully on the first 5 verses of this sura a very beautifull picture emerges. Allah SWT the Creator, Sustainer and Nourisher of everything that exists is directly telling us that this Quran is from Him and It contains guidance that is very clear and understandable, which was revealed on a Blessed night to warn us against evil and guide us with Divine wisdom. Furthermore this is a blessed message that gives us clear directives on all matters and separates good from evil.

Cross Ref:2:185 “Ramadaan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur´an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong)….”

Sura 44 (AD Dukhaan – The Smoke)

Allah’s blessing

Verse 3 “We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil)”
Cross Ref :
6:92 ” And this is a Book which We have sent down, bringing blessings, ….”
21:50 “And this is a blessed Message .

From the above verses the overwhelming conclusion is that Allah has blessed everything connected to the Quran – the night upon which it was revealed, the Noble Messenger who was entrusted to deliver it and those that follow the Quran.

Therefore if we want to be the recipients of the support and mercy of Allah SWT and His Blessings, then we need to earnestly study and follow the Quran.

6:155 “And this is a Book which We have revealed as a blessing: so follow it and be righteous, that ye may receive mercy”

Sura 44 (AD Dukhaan – The Smoke)

Al Quran – Allah’s clear Book

Verse 2 “By the Book that makes things clear”

The above verse could not be more precise and straightforward. Despite this unambiguous and simple statement the perception amongst many Muslims is that the Quran is difficult to understand and we should not approach it without the guidance of some learned person.

As a result we find that very few Muslims make an effort to study the Quran and familiarize themselves with this Glorious Book of Guidance thereby depriving themselves Of Allah SWT’s Mercy and Blessing.

Cross ref 6:155 And this is a Book which We have revealed as a blessing: so follow it and be righteous, that ye may receive mercy:

2:121 Those to whom We have sent the Book study it as it should be studied: They are the ones that believe therein….
