Sura 31 (Luqman)
The Day when no person will avail another
Verse 33 “O mankind! do your duty to your Lord, and fear (the coming of) a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the promise of Allah is true: let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah.”
Belief in the Day of Accountability is an article of faith in Islam and serves to remind us that we will be held accountable for our actions. The verse further informs us that we will be held individually accountable and that no one can share in our burdens on that Day. Accordingly we should discharge our duty to Allah SWT by adhering to His commands in the Qur’an and not be distracted by the deception of evil forces.
