With the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Surah Fussilat (41)

The reward of the righteous

41:30. In the case of those who say, “Our Lord is Allah., And, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): “Fear ye not!” (They suggest), “Nor grieve! but receive the glad tidings of the Garden (of bliss), the which ye were promised!

41:31. “We are your protectors In This life and In the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!-

41:32. “A hospitable gift from one Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful!”

These verses show that it is in this life that the angels descend upon the faithful, giving them the joyful news that they should not have any fear. In fact, it is here, when the faithful are persecuted and oppressed, and when the powers of evil seem to have the upper hand, that such assurances are most needed, and it is here that the angels give them comfort and strength to bear hardships, and thus they ultimately overcome the forces of evil.

Cross reference

8:12. Remember Thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): “I am with you: give Firmness to the believers: I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”
